This beautifully crafted Antique Edwardian Suffragette bracelet is set with three 0.3ct bright purple Amethysts, three 0.3ct vibrant green Peridots and three lustrous pearls. The stones are set in 9ct Yellow Gold galleries with elegant fancy links, sealed with a padlock and equipped with a safety chain for added security.
Suffragettes liked to be depicted as feminine, their jewellery popularly consisted of Violet, Green and White stones which were chosen to counter the masculine women’s rights stereotypes put forward by opponents. Green is for Give, white is for Women and violet is for Votes!
This is a beautiful piece, fully hallmarked and in excellent condition – a truly remarkable example of the jewellery crafted to show support for the Suffragette movement.
