Yellow Gold Oval Halo Engagement Ring

The Amara ring is a yellow gold oval halo engagement ring from the Edwardian Era, circa 1910! This incredible ring centers a  1.98 carat rose cut diamond of I color, VS2 clarity. The diamond is set in 4 delicate 18kt yellow gold prongs. The center diamond is surrounded by a halo of 18 old European cut diamonds that are bezel set in platinum with millegrain detailing, and the shoulders feature a feminine split shank. The ring is size 8 and can be resized!

Why We Love It

This oval halo engagement ring is incredible! A two-tone halo with such lovely old European cut stones and a rose cut centering it. The central diamond has gorgeous faceting for that lovely subtle scintillation that rose cuts give off! The halo of old European cut diamonds adds extra sparkle and creates a lovely, elongated look that is both finger-flattering and incredibly elegant!

The bezel platinum settings throughout the halo combine two of the most secure setting methods to protect each of those gorgeous hand-cut old European diamonds, while the yellow gold is classic and distinct with that lovely split shank! The two-tone metal brings out the unique colors of the rose cut to create a look that’s warm and bright!

Reasons To Love A Rose Cut

Truly a vintage style, rose cut diamonds have been popular since around the 1500s. Their one-of-a-kind style and craftsmanship have solidified this design as a classic favorite. Out of Amara’s 19 diamonds, the rose cut is in the center for a reason! There are many benefits of a rose cut diamond when it comes to finding the perfect engagement ring. Here are just a few things to fall in love with:

  • Larger surface area with a lower profile: Rather than coming to a point, rose cut diamonds are flat on the bottom, creating a greater surface area with less height. This makes them perfect for comfortable, everyday wear.
  • Distinctly soft, organic look: Diamonds are famous the hardest material in the world. We value them for their sharp lines and knife-like faceting. Yet the rose cut offers a softer look, sometimes smoky or cloudlike, but always heavenly—especially in a halo setting like this!
  • One-Of-A-Kind Sparkle! Rose cuts are somewhat like opals in that they can vary widely in appearance and color. While other diamond cuts rely on consistency, rose cuts are valued for their distinct characteristics!
